Discover Pebeo's Drawing Gum Marker, the essential tool for creating precise reserve areas on your watercolour work. This high-precision marker allows you to easily and accurately apply drawing gum, a solution that forms a protective barrier to preserve certain parts of your work when applying diluted inks or gouaches.

With its 0.7 mm plastic wick, Pebeo's Drawing Gum Marker gives you a fine, clean line, ideal for detailed drawings, finishes, writing and effects. Its durable tip won't break or fray, so you can work with confidence without interruption.

Whether you're a professional artist or a passionate hobbyist, Pebeo's Drawing Gum Marker offers unparalleled precision for creating reserve areas on your artwork. You can easily apply the drawing gum in a continuous and controlled manner, allowing you to express your creativity without limits.

Using Pebeo's Drawing Gum Marker is simple and practical. Simply apply it to the areas you wish to protect, and once dry, it forms a film that resists water and diluted colours. Once you've finished your work, simply remove it gently with your fingers or an eraser to reveal the preserved areas and admire the contrast between the reserved areas and the applied colours.

Drawing Gum is a peelable solution used to keep areas of artwork free, for use with ink, watercolour, gouache... It is applied using a brush or pen on the parts of the work to be masked. Colour is applied when the drawing gum is dry. Once the colours are completely dry just rub the gum with your finger or with an eraser to reveal the masked parts.

Properties:

  • Thinner: Not recommended
  • Drying time: 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on the thickness of the coating and the surface used
  • Cleaning of tools: With soapy water before drying
  • For fine lines, or with markers: the dry film is to be removed at most one week after application

Applications:

The Drawing Gum is a peelable drawing gum for the realization of works in reserve with ink, watercolor, gouache... It is applied with a brush or a pen on the parts of the drawing which are to be masked.

The coloring is done when the Drawing Gum is dry.

To discover the parts which were masked, it is enough to peel off the Drawing Gum with the finger or with an eraser, once the colors are perfectly dry.

The Drawing Gum markers allow an easier use of the product, and a more precise application with more or less fine lines depending on the wick used: 0.7 mm or 4 mm round.

They must be primed before the first use:

  • Shake the marker firmly, cap closed, to circulate the ball
  • Then, on a sheet of paper, press the tip several times to soak the paper with paint.
  • If residue forms on the wick, it is easy to remove the excess material with your fingers. It is advisable to clean the 0.7 mm plastic wick regularly after use by taking it out of its base and running it under warm water.

If necessary, a spare wick is integrated directly into the cap.

They should be stored horizontally with the cap closed, and can be kept for 6 months after the first priming at moderate room temperature (15-25 degress C).

The marker is a very practical all-in-one tool due to its easy handling and use. It is a nomadic product that can be taken everywhere. It can be used in addition to the bottle version which is more adapted to large applications.

Caution: air travel can cause excess product on the wick and in the cap. Carefully open the cap and if necessary, clean the wick and cap before starting to decorate.

For Drawing Gum markers with 4mm wicks, you can purchase spare 4mm wick packs consisting of 4 wicks: two round wicks and two beveled wicks for thick or thin calligraphy strokes. This extends the capabilities of the marker while prolonging its life.
